It is so good. One of my favourite foods in Iceland. Difficult to find in Denmark too. Also Icelandic lamb is just so much better then Danish lamb because of the way it’s raised.
Smoked Icelandic lamb is the best. I’ve had some luck with New Zealand lamb here in Sweden and even lamb from Gotland, but I almost stopped buying Swedish lamb after some pathetic lamb chops.
I have some Swedish smoked lamb to try this Christmas, but I think the methods of smoking differ. The Icelandic lamb is meant to be boiled, I think the Swedish lamb is smoked so that it’s ready to eat. It probably won’t be the same, but hopefully it’ll be good. Got an Icelandic christmas beer, a smoked imperial stout, to go with it just in case.
