Wherein stuff! is tumbled. A tumblelog by Karl Gunnarsson.

Oh, and I also edit a photography blog here on Tumblr called 1/125. Go check it out.

If you're looking for ultimate enlightenment you'd be doing yourself a grave disservice by asking me about stuff.

I was going through my Atget book when I saw this photo. It reminds me of a photo I took in Stockholm 2010. This connection had been on my mind shortly before I bumped into the above photo just now, but I can’t remember which photo sparked the connection. I wonder if I had seen this exact Atget photo before I made my mannequin photo. It’s more than likely, but not certain, but back then I was certainly an admirer of Atget and had seen some of his shop window mannequin photos if maybe not this exact one.

I was absolutely not consciously imitating Atget when I took the photo, but I do wonder where my fascination with mannequins, or more just photographing them, comes from.
